Kräftskiva appeared in the 16th century when crayfish were considered a delicacy for nobility. Catching was only allowed from August to preserve the population.
Crayfish are eaten with hands, sucking the juice from the shell. Paper bibs and hats with moon images are mandatory - a symbol of August nights.
In Sweden, American signal crayfish are caught, introduced in the 1960s. They are larger than local ones and reach 15-20 cm.
The largest Kräftskiva was held in Malmö in 2019 - 8,000 participants! They ate 3 tons of crayfish and drank 5,000 liters of beer.
The perfect team building event! Your employees will never forget such a celebration.
