Short answer: a professional guide for six hours on our Värmland lakes is 250 EUR, and sea trips start at 250 EUR in the Stockholm archipelago, 350 EUR from Nynäshamn and 550 EUR on Gotland. That is the price for the trip, not per angler — two friends split it, four friends split it further. A boat adds 25–45 EUR a day, rented tackle 30 EUR, and a week-long fishing permit for the regional waters 40 EUR.

Almost every enquiry we get starts the same way: someone has found a lake in Bergslagen or a bay in the archipelago, they want a guide for a day, and they have no idea whether that means 100 euros or 1,000. So here is the whole thing, line by line, with the sums already done.

What the guide fee buys and what it doesn't

The guide fee covers the person. The guide's time, their reading of the water, their decision to abandon a bay after twenty minutes because the wind swung and the pike moved. On our Långban waters that is 250 EUR for a six-hour session targeting pike, zander and perch. The number does not change if you bring a friend, so per head it drops fast.

What it does not automatically cover is the hardware. Boat, echo sounder, rods and the local fiskekort are separate lines on our price list — deliberately, because a an angler who brings their own spinning gear shouldn't pay for rental they don't need. Sea trips are quoted differently: there the boat, the skipper and the fuel are one package, which is why an archipelago day starts at the same 250 EUR but a Kattegat trip on the west coast starts at 650.

from 310 EUR — about 78 EUR each

Our packaged programmes sit in the same range once you add it up: the Economy option works out at 190 EUR per person per day with boat, basic accommodation and permits, while the three-day Standard package is 650 EUR per person including a cottage, a guided day, breakfast and the transfer from the train station. The full list is on the programmes page.

Why sea days cost more than lake days

A lake guide walks to the jetty. A sea skipper burns 60–100 litres of diesel getting you out to fish that aren't in the inner bays, and needs a licensed boat to do it. That gap is the whole explanation for 250 EUR in the inner Stockholm archipelago versus 650 on the west coast, where the target is cod and mackerel in deep open water. Gotland lands in between at 550 because of the crossing.

We don't quote a fixed all-in figure by email. Tell us the dates, how many rods, and whether you want one guided day or three, and you get the breakdown above filled in with your numbers. Groups of six or more take 10 % off, and stays of a week or longer take 15 %.

What visitors forget to budget

Questions we get asked

Is the guide price per person or per group?

Per group. The 250 EUR six-hour guide rate is the same whether one angler or a boatload books it, so the cost per head falls the more of you come.

How long is a guided fishing day in Sweden?

Six hours on the lakes. Sea trips run four to eight hours depending on the target: four hours for shore fishing with a guide, six in the archipelago by boat, eight for salmon trolling.

Is the fishing permit included in the price?

On the packaged programmes, yes. If you book a guide on its own, the regional permit is a separate 40 EUR for the week and we buy it for you before you arrive.

Do I need to bring my own rods?

No. Rented spinning gear with lures is 30 EUR a day. Most guests who fly in rent rather than pay airline oversize fees, and bring only their own reels and favourite lures.

Are there discounts for groups or longer stays?

Yes. Six people or more takes 10 % off, and a stay of a week or longer takes 15 % off. They apply to the accommodation and boat lines as well as the guiding.
